670 itemsWelcome to California Garden

Founded in 1907, the San Diego Floral Association is one of the oldest civic organizations in Southern California. It was created to advance horticultural education and improve gardening in the region’s Mediterranean climate. In furtherance of this mission, the organization launched a magazine in 1909. California Garden has been published since that date by Floral Association volunteers and is the oldest continuously published garden magazine in the United States west of the Alleghenies. California Garden is a matchless source of regional horticultural and environmental history and biography and often sheds light on more general historical developments in the region.

San Diego Floral Association members receive a subscription to California Garden, discounts on classes and may borrow books from the horticulture library maintained by the Association at its office, Room 105, Casa de Prado, Balboa Park (619-232-5762). Educational programs throughout the year are open to members and guests. To learn more or to join SDFA, visit the office or www.sdfloral.org.
